East Brookfield Memorial Day observance solemn, colorful

EAST BROOKFIELD - The church carillon played “American the Beautiful” and “My country Tis of Thee” as spectators gathered along Main St. to watch this town’s annual Memorial Day parade. As the sun of a perfect day gilded nearby Lake Lashaway, boats, one bedecked with flags and all bearing spectators to the upcoming small town celebration, floated close to shore.

Eagle Scout candidate to
hold car wash

EAST BROOKFIELD - Tyler Davis, a member of Boy Scout Troop #238, is planning a car wash. The proceeds from which will be used to fund his Eagle Scout community service project. The car wash will be held on June 19, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the building known locally as the Hodgkins building, located behind the fire station.
