No contests in East
Brookfield town election

EAST BROOKFIELD Ð East
Brookfield Town Clerk Virginia Allen says there are no contests in this
election, and no candidates for a finance committee term of three years and a
one-year library trustee slot have come forward.
Incumbent Fred Schofield
chose not to seek another finance committee term, and only William C. Sullivan
is seeking a three-year term as Library Trustee, though there are two up for
grabs.
Robert P. Ciaffone is seeking
a one-year unexpired term.
Incumbent Joseph R. Fish has no
opposition for another three-year term as selectman. Virginia T. Allen seeks
another three-year term as town clerk. Other candidates, unopposed, seeking re-election
are moderator Harland Smith, 3 years; Linda V. Leblanc, board of assessors;
Steven A. Thebodo and Mark E. Violette, planning board, 3 years; Ruth L.
McNeaney, board of health, 3 years; Thomas J. Lowkes, cemetery commissioner, 3
years; Thomas J. Lowkes, trustee of shade trees and cemetery funds, 3 years; William
C. Gregoire, constable, 3 years; Robert H. Allen, tree warden, 1 year. Jennifer
R. McNeaney seeks a one year unexpired term as cemetery commissioner.
Elections will be held on May
11 at the municipal complex, Connie Mack Drive, between the hours of 7 a.m. and
8 p.m.
Town meeting will be held on
the following night, Wednesday May 12, at East Brookfield Elementary School.
