EB Flatts to hold wine, beer tasting fundraiser

EAST BROOKFIELD - A Wine and Beer Tasting will be held on Sunday, May 23 from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the EB Flatts Restaurant on Rt. 9 in East Brookfield. This event will include wine and beer tasting as well as some great hors dÕoeuvres.

A silent auction will add fun to the event with lots of great items to bid on. And whatÕs best, it all benefits the homeless pets that Second Chance Animal Shelter in East Brookfield helps.

Tickets are $25 and include a free wine glass. Tickets can be purchased at the shelter, by phone at (508) 867-5525 or on the website www.secondchanceanimals.org

Last year tickets sold quickly so get yours early. All proceeds from the event go directly to help Second Chance provide a second chance for homeless pets - and you CAN make a difference.

Second Chance is a no-kill animal shelter located at 111 Young Road, East Brookfield. Second Chance helps thousands of pets each year through adoption, low cost spaying/neutering, and other programs. Caring for these homeless pets and providing desperately needed services is expensive. The need for services in the area and beyond continues to grow each year. The shelter does not receive any funding from government sources and therefore relies on donations to do the work of helping homeless pets.

Second Chance has received national awards for its outstanding work. Second Chance received the 2007 Pedigree Best Rescue Story Award, was a 2008 Zootoo.com top 20 finalist in their national makeover competition, won the Zootoo Special Recognition Award for Spay/Neuter Outreach, and was the shelter of the week by the SPCA International 2009. But Second Chance doesnÕt do it for those rewards, they do their outstanding work for the countless pets that are helped each year through adoption and the various programs including spay/neuter, educational outreach, and more.
