social, banjo/fiddle contest to be held June 13

BROOKFIELD - As part of Quaboag Plantation's year-long 350th anniversary
celebration, presented by the asparagus and flower heritage festival on Sunday,
June 13 from noon to 3 p.m. on the West Brookfield common. Appropriate vintage
attire is suggested. Enjoy complimentary refreshments. Assemble a group of
Friends/Family- one to six players.(Singles will be paired up to make groups of
4 to 6). Check in prior to playing at noon or 1:30 p.m. Banjo/Fiddle contest
will begin at 4 p.m. Those who wish to participate may register by going to
www.Quaboag350.com and clicking on the home site and the banjo-fiddle contest
link. Additionally, forms may be picked up in the lobby of the West Brookfield
Town Hall. Registration forms should be mailed by June 5, or late registration
may be made on the day of the event from 1-3 p.m. There are two categories for
each instrument: Junior (under age 17) and senior (over age 17). Cash prizes
will be awarded for first, second and third place in each category.
Additionally, a raffle for prizes, including a violin, will be conducted. For
