Laliberte resigns school committee post

Candidates for unexpired term sought by June 30

SPENCER – Dr. Ralph Hicks, Superintendent of the David Prouty Regional School District, has announced the resignation of Matthew Laliberte from the Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District committee, effective immediately.

Hicks, in a press release issued Monday, said that registered Spencer voters interested in completing the balance of Laliberte’s unexpired term (until May 2011) should send a letter of interest to Dr. Ralph E. Hicks, Ed.D, 306 Main St. Spencer, MA 01562 or by email to

hicksr@sebrsd.org no later than June 30.

According to Hicks, Laliberte gave no reason in his letter for the resignation, but “I understand he’s moving to Florida. That’s just my understanding.”
