Committee announces summer concert

WEST BROOKFIELD Ð For the 28th
consecutive year, this townÕs music committee will present a summer series of
concerts on the bandstand, which stands near School St., at the head of the common.
Committee Chairman Sue
LaBarge and fellow members gathered on the bandstand last week to announce the
June 23 beginning of the popular concerts, which will continue until Aug. 11.
All concerts are on
Wednesdays from 7 - 9 p.m., with the exception of July 3, which will be 7:30 Ð
10 p.m. The rain date for that concert and the traditional bonfire will be July
4 Ð same time, same place.
The schedule is as follows:
June 23, Glamour Girls; July 3, Rick Larrimore Ð Rod Stewart tribute (note time
above); July 7, Union Jack British Invasion Band; July 14, Dale and the Duds;
July 21, Draw the Line - Aerosmith
Tribute; July 28, Victory Band; Charlie Lask with the All Star Band Ð Neil
diamond tribute; August 11, Eddie Forman Orchestra.
Note: The July 14 band, Dale
and the Duds, played for the Quaboag 350th Anniversary Ball on Jan. 2 at the
town hall in West Brookfield. ÒThey were so popular then that we just had to
invite them back for a summer concert,Ó said LaBarge.
