NORTH BROOKFIELD Ð The annual
town meeting will be held on Friday, June 25 at the elementary school
auditorium at 7:30 p.m., to vote on money articles passed over at the May
meeting; budget figures were not then available.
The five-article warrant
seeks (article 4) to fix the salaries of all elected and appointed officials of
the town, and determine what sums of money will be raised, appropriated,
borrowed or transferred in the treasury to defray the charges and expenses of
the town for the coming fiscal year, including a reserve fund.
The following three articles
seek funds for the operation of the water and sewer departments and the town
emergency squad.
The final article seeks to
replace the highway superintendentÕs 1995 Ford F250 truck with a new 2011 Ford F250
truck, for a sum of $40,735.
No further budget figures
were available at press time. ÒWeÕre still working on them,Ó Finance committee
chairman Robert Smith said.
The board of selectmen and
finance committee remind voters that these budget articles fund the operation
of the town, and voter attendance and participation is essential.
