Quaboag Pond to get treatment Aug. 6

BROOKFIELD/EAST BROOKFIELD - Quaboag Pond in Brookfield and East Brookfield will be chemically treated with a USEPA/MA registered algaecide to control nuisance algae Friday, Aug. 6. The entire pond will be closed to swimming and other water contact activities on the day of each treatment. Printed signs will be posted around the pond shoreline and should remain in place until Saturday, Aug. 7. The work is being performed for the Quaboag-Quacumquasit Lake Association (QQLA) pursuant to a License to Apply Chemicals permit from MA DEP. Aquatic Control Technology, Inc., of Sutton, is the State Licensed Company performing the treatments.
